I am a freelance photographer, journalist and commentator based in Dublin. I contribute to The Irish Independent, The Irish Times, RT.com, The Sunday Times, Al Jazeera, The Sydney Morning Herald and others.
I write regular opinion columns for the Irish Independent, covering social, political and environmental issues. I also write a weekly Irish abroad piece for the Irish Times business section called Wild Geese.
This page features my articles, which appear across Irish and international media. It also contains photo-journalistitc articles from around the world including; going on patrol with the Black Mamba all female anti poaching unit in the greater Kruger game reserve, the inauguration of Donald Trump in Washington in 2017, the California primaries for Al Jazeera in June 2016, the German elections, the European migrant crisis, HM Queen Elizabeth II and Barack Obama’s visit to Ireland as well as the UK Elections, the Irish referendum on gay marriage and more.
Various assignments have taken me to Sierra Leone, game reserves in South Africa, the Oscars in Los Angeles, the Cannes Film Festival, The Monaco Grand Prix and others. I also interviewed business leaders in Silicon Valley and was allowed a rare visit to the world’s largest telescope in Chile.
I also reported from Ibiza, Burning Man and China and was the only journalist to visit the Peru Two in prison in Lima, Peru. My exclusive interview featured in the Sunday Independent in December 2013.
As a commentator, I have appeared in shows including RTE’s Highly Recommended, Cutting Edge, Claire Byrne Live, The Savage Eye, TV3s The Tonight Show, The Sunday Show and in Germany on ‘Taff- Burning Man special’ on Pro 7, Sept 2018 amongst others. I am currently completing a Climate Change MsC at DCU.
